چکیده
The building industry, though one of Europe’s biggest business sectors, is primarily made up of small companies. This implies the need for low cost and easy to use computer support to allow these companies to survive in today’s competitive markets. The ESPRIT project CSCCM was a pilot for such an approach and demonstrated how small companies can increase their efficiency in the area of bid preparation by reengineering their processes and introducing new information and communication technology. The project resulted in the e-bid tools for bid preparation and supply chain support. The paper describes the pilot case of COGEMAR, one of the end users in the project, by summarising the approach taken and the benefits achieved. The software system is outlined briefly.

The European funded CSCCM project (Computer Supported Co-operative Construction Management) aims to optimise the bidding process of small and medium companies in the building industry. This paper outlines the approach taken in the project and presents the CSCCM software system. The system supports the complete bidding process, starting from capturing the customer requirements, up to pursuing of...
متن کاملCo-operative work practices and knowledge sharing issues: A comparison of viewpoints
In this paper, we set out to explore the organisational knowledge that evolves from virtual co-operative work experiences. Through case narratives we demonstrate issues that can arise and using the four theoretical viewpoints of sociotechnology, knowledge management, organisational communication theory, and Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) we develop practical insights into the orga...
متن کاملEvaluation Concept for Integrated Knowledge and Co-Operation Platforms
This article introduces a concept for evaluating integrated knowledge and co-operation platforms which was derived from systematic examination of computer supported co-operative work (CSCW) and knowledge management systems and from research of available evaluation approaches to CSCW and knowledge management systems. It consists of various evaluation perspectives (individual, group, organisation...

An evaluation of distributed computer supported co-operative work (CSCW) in a project workshop for students utilising Internet-based videoconference technology, i s presented. The workshop has been evaluated in light of relevant theoretical communication factors and according to feedback from the students based on questionnaire data. Conclusions are presented as guidelines for instructors.
متن کاملCo-operativity of lectin binding to fibroblasts and its relation to cellular actomyosin.
We have investigated the binding of 125I-concanavalin A (125I-Con A) and 125I-succinyl concanavalin A (125I-s-Con A) to rat fibroblasts (16C line) as a function of the concentration of added lectin, and the alterations to this binding behaviour caused by drugs which modify the cytoskeleton. The changes in cell behaviour which occur at different levels of binding have also been studied. As shown...
